In a recently closed campaign chapter that I'm running, Yggdrasil has been an important power. In the books he claims to have been planted by Oberon to mark a limit.
In my campaign, Yggdrasil was used as a power stabilizer and power filter. When things went awry (I was running a high powered/ all bets are off type of game) Yggdrasil wished to extend his power throughout shadow and started running a network of roots and trees manifesting in key areas.
When in the possession of a branch of Ygg, a PC could use it to follow the root network... A slow but efficient process, especially for a character blessed with advanced shapeshifting and little else (one of the PCs).
Has anyone else ever use Yggdrasil as a power? Were there specifics that you'd like to share? requirements etc...

Never used Ygg as a power, but you bring up an interesting point: what does it take to convince players that they can use odd things as powers? I mean, almost any object of substance has some potential as a power source, if only players would tap into it. I can see using elements as powers, special artifacts such as the Jewel of Judgement, and so why not Ygg as well?

Exactly.
At least for this campaign, I've been emphasizing player creativity and input more than in any other campaign, and whatever odd ideas I didn't come up with, the players did.
It mostly took place in the Courts of Chaos and I wanted that pole of the Universe to feel very... well, chaotic! A place where playing by the rules wasn't as important as being creative, original and sometimes random.
The whole Ygg as a power mainly stemmed from that...

I also have toyed with the idea of using Yggdrasil as an important power. It was fairly in line with your concept of it, a limiter and pressure valve on escalating uses of pattern and logrus, its initiates were also its agents, capable of creating molds of their forms making living vine and foliage golems like Groot to enforce their balance keeping. But its a fairly old idea of mine, and yea, each object and concept in the books can easily be used for the rpg. As for the requirements themselves u had to find Yggdrasil itself and be accepted by it, no samll feat by itself.
